💡Forces are classed as vector quantities as they have both magnitudes and directions.

Objects are physically touching
• eg. Friction

Don't require the two objects to be touching
• so can act through empty space
  • Resultant Force: The overall force acting on an object when all forces are combined.
  • Free-body Diagrams: Diagrams showing all forces acting on a single object.
  • Work Done: When a force causes movement, energy is transferred. Work done (J) = Force (N) × Distance (m)
  • Elastic and Inelastic Deformation: Elastic returns to original shape, inelastic does not.
  • Hooke's Law: Force = spring constant × extension
